“Re-examine all you have been told…Dismiss what insults your soul”
Walt Whitman
Life can often take us into challenging and uncharted territory.
Therapy provides a space in which to reflect, contemplate and explore what is happening to us. It helps us to better understand the meaning and purpose of these experiences, and can determine how we choose to respond.
Clients contact me for a variety of reasons, including:
Stress and anxiety, work life balance, low self-esteem and depression and other work place-related issues
Life stage exploration including: boarding school syndrome; retirement; parenthood and parenting; bereavement; marriage; menopause
Inter-cultural issues: I have in-depth experience of working with clients who have been separated from their homeland and the effect on their sense of identity and belonging and their ability to trust others.
About Me
“What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” Mary Oliver
Throughout therapy sessions, I seek to offer a calm, supportive and confidential space in which to explore the challenges which you are facing. I aim to help you to foster more resilience in facing your difficulties and thus enable you to feel more content, complete and fulfilled.
As an experienced UKCP registered integrative psychotherapist, I draw upon my multi-cultural life experiences, my professional career as a corporate lawyer and the multiple different traditions of psychotherapy, depending on which is most appropriate and helpful to you.
Inherent in adopting this holistic approach is my desire to remain attuned to your particular and unique needs.
The relationship between therapist and client will be central to our work together, as therapy is always a collaborative process.
Initial Consultation
If you wish to explore the possibility of working together with me and how I may be able to support you, I would offer you a free fifteen minute zoom call to explore your therapy requirements. Following this, if we are both happy to work together, we would agree a number of sessions (usually six). These initial sessions will allow us to explore in more depth the issues we need to work through, and at the end of this period decide whether we wish to continue working together.
Should we both be happy to continue, we would commit to having weekly sessions of 50 minutes each, at a regular time. As this would be the time reserved for you there would be a cancellation period of 5 working days.
We would regularly review our work together and your therapy goals.
I offer both short-term counselling which is usually between 6-12 sessions and long-term therapy, the length of which usually takes place for a minimum of a year.
Fees
My fees are currently from £80 per session.
